Last day at Hebron Academy

Today marks my last day of work at Hebron Academy. It has been a great first full year working in marketing for an independent school. I’ve had the chance to work on a lot of diverse projects. From producing the bulk of the school’s photography for marketing, showcasing the Hebron experience through video, managing the broadcast of live streamed events on campus, creating and managing the school’s inbound marketing site today.hebronacademy.org, managing institutional social media accounts (leading to significant increases in likes/followers and engagement especially on Facebook and Twitter), creating/updating design collateral for print and the web, and helping with email marketing through Constant Contact and WhippleHill’s PushPage, there was never a dull moment.

During my spare time, I worked on professional development by learning how to effectively use Google Analytics (and earning my Individual Qualification, and later presenting on best practices at WhippleHill’s 2014 User Conference), improving my skills (and becoming an Apple Certified Pro) with Final Cut Pro X, reviewing Inbound Marketing principles (and getting Inbound Certified by HubSpot Academy), and learning how best to use Google Adwords (before getting that certification as well).

I was also able to attend both the CASE D1 Conference and CASE Summer Institute in Communications and Marketing thanks to the generosity of the Council for Advancement of Support of Education’s District One.

All in all, it was a very busy and productive time. I’ve enjoyed learning and growing as a professional over the past year and I’m thankful for the opportunities I’ve had. I’m looking forward to my next adventure (which I’ll save for a future post) and would like to thank everyone I’ve had the pleasure of working with this year.

Best,

Geoff
